Simon Green raised £130 for Ducks & Drakes by shaving his beard off at the Piddle Inn. Thanks Simon!!
The Ducks & Drakes Charity Clay Shoot raised an amazing £4,144.07!!!!
This was not only due to the great turn out (over 150 guns) but the generosity of sponsors, which gave £1,125 and the fact that the Top Man, Top Lady & Top Team all donated their prize money back to the Trust. We also raised £210 on the BBQ and £354.50 on the tombola and sale of merchandise. A sincere thank you to all our sponsors for the day who either donated money or lent much needed equipment, especially Greenfield Gunmakers for their trap stands. A BIG thank you to all our helpers on the day who helped run everything smoothly to make the event a great success. Last but not least Mr Peter Hiscock - we cannot thank him enough not only for the use of such a brilliant site for the day but most importantly for all the time and effort he puts in to ensure everything is organised and all goes well on the day. Hopefully the shoot will be taking place again next year- same place and times on SUNDAY 5TH JULY 2020 - will be confirmed but please put in diaries. From 7 June, the faecal immunochemical test (FIT) will replace the current guaiac faecal occult blood test (gFOBt) in the NHS Bowel Cancer Screening Programme (BCSP). "Aided by senior radiologist Mandy, I was given full accompaniment by the rest of today's team. The £50 coming from Ducks and Drakes will be going to Marie Curie. I have just handed over the Chairmanship of the Dorchester Fundraising Group after the 4 years since it was established. Like you, we are only a small group, but have raised about £120,000 in those 4 years. All the money that we raise goes to pay for the work of the nurses in Dorset. Best wishes to you all, and congratulations for being so successful." Richard Crosby We are very pleased to announce that Co-operative Funeral Care in Sturminster Newton has chosen to support Ducks & Drakes Cancer Trust for 2019.
We look forward to partnering with the company throughout the year. THANK YOU! Visit their web page here "My connection with Ducks & Drakes goes back to my childhood and on into my adult life. I grew up knowing Andrew (Drakey) and his family. Drakey's courage and determination is matched only by that of his family and friends who run and support this amazing Trust.
This fight is a huge challenge for me, the training alone is tough enough! the thought of stepping into the ring in front of 700 people is quite terrifying. the fight takes place on 11th April 2019, tickets will be available from 11th Feb. Standby for updates with more info." Please Sponsor Martyn >> here A BIG thank you to Symonds and Sampson for supporting Ducks & Drakes Cancer Trust throughout 2018, raising £3,817.54! |
