We also help fund specialist nurses in Dorset County Hospital, specifically in the Colorectal department.

"We are very grateful to the Dukes and Drakes Cancer Trust for all the support they have given us. The donation of special cushions has made a huge difference to the patients who have required them following their surgery for bowel cancer. The Trust have also made substantial donations to support the further education of the specialist colorectal cancer nurses which enable us to continue supporting our patients and providing them with up to date information and solutions for some of the problems they may experience following treatment. The Trust  also supports the donation of travel grants for patients  by the Semi colons bowel cancer support group and this is a big help for patients who have to travel to other trusts for long periods of treatment. The Ducks and Drakes Cancer Trust have worked hard to raise awareness of bowel cancer, particularly in younger people, and we appreciate their hard work and dedication."

How to apply for financial support:

As well as funding specialist nurses in the Colorectal Department at Dorset County Hospital, Ducks & Drakes Cancer Trust is able to help young people living in Dorset, aged 18 to 30, who have been diagnosed with bowel cancer and need financial support.  We are a small charity therefore the grants are small but we aim to try and help as many young bowel cancer patients as we can.

To be considered for a grant, please contact us with the following information:

Age
Address
When were you diagnosed?
Where are you being treated?
Why do you need financial support?
